Andrey Dorofeev came into journalism in 1987 with perestroika, when brave, innovative view and new comprehension of our history were required. Collaborating with many titles as caricaturist, he became laureate of "Moskovskiy Komsomolets's" caricaturist club in 1988. Next year he won Big encouragement prize of USSR caricaturist exhibition. He was noticed and offered a job by editorship of “Argumenty and Fakty”. They sharply needed such work.
The beginning of the 90s was a period of change. People awaited changes in all aspects of life, including press. And “AiF” with Dorofeev’s collages at front pages gave people this changes. Thoze uncommon, revolutionary front pages contain not just contemplative element , but sensible ideas as well. They created unique “AiF” style, which became visiting card of a title.
Journalists association appreciated his art at its true value by awarding him Journalists association of Moscow prize in 1992 and presenting honorary diploma of Journalists association of Russia “For best journalistic contribution of the year” in 1993. Series of his front pages won first place among informational titles in annual contest “Front page of the year” in 2001. One collage won special prize “Singing cover” in 2003. Won prize for urgency at International exhibition of ironic art “Zolotoy Lukich” in 2006.
Author published two collections of his art, carried out several personal exhibitions in Moscov, St.Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Frankfurt, towns in Russia.
